My Journey To Becoming a Horsewomen
I know I will hit a lot of roadblocks on the way to becoming a horsewomen. But I choose to go to the top & be the very best that I can be.
I know there will be no problems along my the way; only new solutions to find & that I need to think about where I want to go, and who I want to be; think about all the baby steps on the way & every day- work on those.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
OF THE WEEK
* If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten
* Every day I welcome myself to a new level of incompetence
* If your horses says 'no', you either asked the wrong question, or asked the question wrong
* Cause your idea to become his idea, but understand his idea FIRST
* Your horse can only be as brave as you are
* Do it FOR the horse, not TO him
* Natural-Horse-Man-Ship is so old, its new again
* Don't learn the tricks of the Trade, Learn the Trade
* Take the time it takes, so it takes less time
* Trust that he'll respond, but be ready to correct- NOT more one than the other!

Learn Burn
Well, Sunday afternoon I got my first Learn Burn! I had a very playful little horse on the end of my 22ft line- & instead of flowing with him when he kicked up his heals as I sent him out around the tyre in the figure 8 I braced and learn why not to do that!
I came back inside for the first time in about a week & a half feeling kinda flat- I'd hit another rode block. I wasn't sure how to tackle Archie's new found exuberance! He was a lot more mentally braced with me today & I know it was because I upped the anti again and started playing on a new level. Problem was I had no arrows for this level...
I went back inside after finishing on a nice note and watched my part2 of the L&HB set. I figured out that was I was doing was MAKING him come to me so I could send him out again- & I was forcing things I shouldn't have been. So, lesson two for the day was to next time see if I can get him drawing to me out of want, NOT MAKE!!!
